This 15t sprocket was used in combination with 49t rear and a 530z chain of 116 links length on my VN400.
After all, SUNSTAR is the best choice for Sprocket. However, the Driven Sprocket for 520Conversion around yzf-r1 and FZ1 does not have Number of teeth on the OEM. If you are driving on a circuit, you can drop the front one and have no problem at all. If you are driving on a circuit like Tsukuba where top speed does not come out, you can drop the front two; It seems to be the voice from the manufacturer that says don't do the conversion in the street in the first place, but Number of teeth on the OEM has no choice but to choose another company's product. Even for touring use, if it's just one drop, there's no negatives there, and if you don't have to cruise at high speeds, the Merit will be easier to start. I ordered a 520 conversion kit for my Hayabusa 1300R which include Sunstar front sprochet 17 teeth same stock size (stoch with 530 size). The Sunstar front sprocket has super ligh weight, full kit include DID 520 ZVM-X chain 116 link , front sprocket 17 teeth and rear sprocket 43 teeth weight only about 2.5kg, I think I've lost 50 percent of the weight. This chain looks very heavy. It was very hard to remove extra links at installation time - the chain is very firmly assembled. It was used in combination with 15 and 49 sprockets and 116 links length on my VN400. I have used this chain earlier on another bike and it still lives for three years and 12000km.View Detail
This sprocket is really weightless in comparsion to steel one. It also has a very beautiful custom look.some people says that steel one lasts longer, but I can't believe my 400 motor can eat it for a short time. Sprocket has a small holes which make some hub subspace opened and water can go inside and outside, but there is no problem, because there is no bearings or brake pads in this subspace. Also this smaller holes makes funny whisper sound on higher speeds, it is not loud and it is not bothering. Don't forget to use non-permanent thread lock on installation bolts. It is the best adapter!I got it to fit mikuni VM22 carb to 125cm³ chinese engine with starter on top: there was no long 26mm manifold and short one should be rotated because of starter position. Old adapter was with rubber ring which has destroyed and eated by engine after 10000km, I had to change burned-out exhaust valve.Now there is no more airleaks! This adapter is flat and well made, it perfectly adheres to manifold and engine surfaces, new gaskets in kit is very good too.Also used some grey silicone sealant on тоp of mounting bolts to expand the contact surface.Now I can put together my big 26mm carb, 26mm short manifold and 26mm engine intake port for smooth airflow!View Detail
